iOS 12 have restored my iphone6 and ipad air to iOS 10 responsiveness!
But I will still order an XS to experience the A12 proc.

I've got a iPhone X - and some how it has made it more responsive especially when scrolling through large amounts of music etc. There has been a beta of 12.1 that has been released which has device information about upcoming iPad refresh etc. so things are looking good. Personally I'm looking more forward to the macOS 10.14 release next week since it includes a revamped App Store and the return of big names.

I just hope future patches won't slow it down. I suspect ios 13 (although I think that will remain it to apple mobile OS or something similar), will be a major interface change, and will be the one that may slow down older devices. A pity still no dark mode, but guessing that will be a 'feature' next year when they invent a new version of it that makes it better.
eracode: Now with iOS 12 on my IPad Air 2, when I wake it with the home button, a blue bar about 15 mm long appears briefly below the battery info near the top RH corner. It’s there for a split second then disappears. Can anyone tell me what that is?
Sounds like a bug to me.

No idea what it is but I have seen it on the 4 iPads we have in our house.
I am glad i upgraded to IOS 12.
Its faster
It works
and the notification grouping is good.
Apple is somewhat inconsistant with upgrades. But this time has worked out well.
Im installing the latest Mac OS tonight so will let you know if any issues

I have tested on an ipad air 2, and haven't encountered it at all. There is however a small light grey bar on the right hand side which indicates the quick launch pull down thing which is new. Previously you pull it up from the bottom, now it matches the iphone X from the top right corner.
Sadly, Array.reverse is broken in Safari on iOS 12 https://stackoverflow.com/questions/52390368/array-state-will-be-cached-in-ios-12-safari-is-bug-or-feature/52392901, so if you find some broken sorting etc. that's why.
Very impressed with the update in general. The password manager integration is really well executed, and has been a pain point for a long time, glad they got to it.

My iPhone7 shows a blueish opaque bar at the top of the screen as it is unlocking. It is only there while the icons on the screen so the 'zoom' into place (so about half a second or less). Wasn't there before. I'm assuming it is something to do with the notification centre/pull down.
I loaded it on my current gen iPad Pro and frankly can't see any difference, anywhere, apart from the ridiculous nonsense trying to tell me when I should or should not use my device - which I disabled, not being a moron with no self control.
Admittedly I have not really done much with it - I upgraded it, fooled around for 10 minutes and then turned it off and put it away. Perhaps I will find out more in the coming weeks.

ibooks seems really slow now on the ipad air 2 when viewing PDFs. Another case of them bulking up something that wasn't broken.
Well I can't say I've seen anything revolutionary on my aging 6s but it is definitely snappier. Just the way the keyboard pops up without delay and I can start typing without any lag. Thumbs up from me for that alone.
As of this morning, all the mail app is showing my mail account and subfolders twice. The complete list then a duplication below it. Can't seem to find how to fix this.
Probably should've kept it at 12...
