JPNZ:

You'll likely find it will take another 2 years to get to 80% (battery replacement required)

My XR is 5 years old next month and only just hit 80% with around 1500 charging cycles

My iPhone 12 Pro Max has gotten to 75%. But I suspect a lot of Pokemoning (and extra charging for that) + wireless charging has contributed to that.

Getting the 15 Pro Max and will be getting a new battery in my 12 Pro Max before it becomes my SO's "new phone".

The problem I have with iPhone from my own experience is that after about  2 years the battery usually needs replacing. Then there is the performance you have to go through and the relatively high cost involved in replacing it. That is when many just upgrade.

Also not a problem I am having. I have a Launch day XR with 1452 charging cycles and its still at 81% battery health. Thats coming up 5 years of heavy(ish) usage (4 hours a day screen time).

AFAIK all 15's will have USB-C, I'm awaiting this event to upgrade and pricing will decide whether I get a 15, 15 Pro or look at a 14 Pro on discount.

I am using an SE2 which has a smaller battery than other models so it always needs charging daily. If a phone only needs charging every second day due to a larger battery, then I would think the battery would last about twice as long.

I'm ordering a 15 Pro while I'm on holiday here in the UK. A nice bonus is they'll give me 325 pound trade in for my 12 Pro.

Got my pre-order in through One NZ at ~12:05am. Fingers crossed for delivery next Friday.

I see the Apple Online Store (for NZ) is still not online yet (typing this at 12:16am), not on any of my devices anyway. I'm glad I didn't go that route…

Good job 2degrees.

Pre Order from 12.01am and -

Things are broken just like last year, and the year before. I seriously thought you would have this sorted as now I just saw One NZ has a preorder offer...

My suspicion is they can only push the deploy button at 12:01am and this takes time to run. Seems One NZ has the best site of the 3 telcos!

Yea the One NZ seems to be fine as. One would think that would be a standard thing and would have it locked down to what they need to do. Nothing new same thing every year!

Spark’s $400 off offer is pretty impressive - don’t think I’ve ever seen that promo for a launch offer

SpartanVXL: Yes my launch xs max is at 82% and frankly does most things a smart phone should do along with most of the useful apple features.

Only a critical failure or a massive upgrade like 100% increase in battery capacity would get me to upgrade.

Mums XS Max was at a similar battery level. She got the battery replaced and is very happy again. If you get another 18 months out of the phone it's a no brainer IMO.

2degrees have $500 off but they were really late to opening up preorders (My order went through at 12:43am). They also have a pretty good trade in offer so ended up getting $500 off and $1085 for a trade in.

I'm very certain Spark has yet to get a single iPhone 15 sale through. Why didn't they consider adding extra VM's/Compute to their web server cluster ahead of time ?
