Hey guys, this is pretty cheap from Catch of the Day. It's an iPad skin for under $10. I am sure an official Apple skin would cost double if not triple that price...

Details here http://bargainlover.co.nz/bargain.aspx?id=394

Wandered into MagnumMac Dunedin at around 8.30 Friday morning. Left a few minutes later with a 16 3g. It's just awesome.

Handsomedan: Just been to JB HiFi and played with one...to be honest, for what i'd get from an iPad, I'd pay maybe $200 max for a 16gb version.

I thought it was nice, fun and kind of cool, but certainly not worthy of purchase for me.

My iPhone and my laptop will suffice.

My thoughts exactly.

I find the iPad to be a rather pointless device, ok for the koolaid/cult though I guess.

webup, I find the iPad is a want, not a must. If I had the spare cash, yes, I might indulge myself in it. However, I am not all that poorer for it if I didn't have one.

Got mine at magnum Mac Christchurch. Initial impression is it is fast and the battery life is awesome.

Didn't get a case as I am looking for one that can also act as some sort of stand.

So what does the 3G ipad really offer other than extra $200? price tag. Is it the gps tool, and ability to use internet via a cellphone provider? I'm guessing it's no phone built etc.

Thinking of getting one for the family but not sure if 3G is worth that extra price tag, over the $799 16g version.

Hey i picked up at 16gig 3g version after alot of hmm'ing a harrr'ing on launch morning. I love it. The GPS feature is useless to me because i bus, which makes the 3g part awesome! I can chat on msn or surf the net or do whateva i want while waiting for a bus. But most places these days eg. work and home. have 3g so for me its only used going to and from somewhere.

I think if you know you will be using the 3g then get it but if you are only going ot be using it where WIFI will be avalible save yourself 200bux.

Also i picked up a incipio case that is also a stand. ($69)

Vodafone will have cases for the ipad soon (well atleast firstmobile will cant confirm other stores)

I didnt really need the ipad as I just got a laptop but I find it fun and useful when out and about to jump also fun to show off :D.

Yea for jailbreak, but its worth it not having to pay 200 more, and have two data plans spread over two sims.

Just go with telecom, they convert a big sim into a small sim so you can just swap it between ipad and existing phone. pretty nifty.
