gehenna: no need to be so touchy about it.

Sorry about that, it wasn't my intention; I was genuinely confused. I need some caffeine or something :)

Lizard1977:
I'd be interested to know how to get back things like CoverFlow.  I gave v11 a go for a while, but I just found it too awkward - if there's a way to go back to the v10 layout, then I'd be a happy camper...

That's fully gone in 11.  By "layout" I mean the sidebar/list/grid views of old rather than the newer artist/album views.  Also the search functionality - changing it from the newer (and imo worse) design which searches library and store simultaneously, to the older one which just searches your library.

Anyone have problems logging into their itunes account today? I had to reset my password, and it still isn't working, just says my password is wrong. I presume it is related to high loads today.

Yeah the servers are getting hammered. Expect inconsistent performance over the next 24 hours.

It's a nice update but one thing I don't like is the change to reminders. They have removed the system "today" list which was handy because I used multiple lists and liked to just read the "today" one for tasks/reminders that were due.

Now you have the badge showing overdue reminders but then have to go in to each list individually and the due tasks are shown as the colour of the name of the list. It's not as obvious as it should be and is a little counter intuitive for a reminder app.

I could be missing something but it's a bit annoying for me personally.

You can see everything that's scheduled by pulling down on a list then tapping the alarm clock icon. Maybe not the same as before but still useful for an overall view.

I've used iOS for a while (all the betas) and there are quite a few nice things but they have broken a number of things such as...

- There is no way of auto hiding the address bar up the top when you go a website (The old scrollto method doesn't work any more and apple hasn't given any other way)
- If you make a web app fullscreen (shortcut on the screen) quite a few javascript things don't work (like alerts )
- The default sounds.. just too quiet and different ringtones etc than what every has been used to since the iPhone came out. (They only changed them in the final release.. all the betas had the same tones since day one)

I did everything and it all updated etc, but now I appear to be locked out of my iPhone :(
I don't usually have a password on it, but I set it for the Find My Iphone app.
I'm SURE it's the right one, because I use the same code for everything, but I'm locked out now and can't get back in :(

Restore it and try setting it up as a new phone without restoring from your backup.

I tried that restoring from the backup. Because of the new features with Find My iPhone it says it will not restore until the Find My iPhone settings are turned off on the phone. Of course, I cannot get in to do that. :(

Don't know what to do now.

How do I manually restore it?

I've tried too many times nowand the phone says it is disabled.

The only issue is scheduled doesn't show things from the past even if they are still uncompleted, only from today onwards. What I used to to was leave overdue items in the "today" list and it was quick to view what I still needed to do. Not a major but still crummy. The only solution I found was to move reminders to the top of the pull down menu because overdue tasks show there. I also don't like that if your day is pretty free it still shows all the blank times of your calendar, bit of a waste of real-estate.

Edit: Fixed the calendar thing by turning off day view. Now it only shows what is coming up for the day. So I will just check my due reminders tasks from the pull down.

You might be able to put the phone in DFU restore mode, when iTunes prompts just click on Restore.

Once it finishes restoring instead of taking the option to set it up from the backup, set it up as a new device. You'll need to reinstall all the apps and your settings, etc, but you'll have a nice clean slate to start from.

Once finished installing and configuring you can back it up and if you run into problems just restore from that backup again.

I'm happy that 7 seems to have sorted the home sharing issue my ipad had with out win7 PC where I had to keep hard restarting the ipad and add/remove itunes id to get it to see my movies/music.

Keyboard feels a little laggy on ipad3

Interesting I haven't noticed any iPad 3 leggyness. Did you set it up as a new device or restore from backup?

Phew, I got it going again.
Rang Apple and a nice tech guy told me how to restore it.
