Malicious destruction/damage of property with absolutely no sense of remorse just to prove a (pointless) point. What a freaking douche.

Can't believe that myself.

The world wide attitude to large corporations is absolutely shocking.

I think the reputation went to pants when all that patent suing drama went down really.

Nah, people (including me) have hated Apple ever since the 80s for various reasons, but I remember the hate when the iPhone came out, and then the iPad too, and every version of the iPhone since.  It seems to be directly related to the share price of Apple :)

Its been confounded in the last few years by some major corporations paying legions of chinese workers to post anti-apple stuff (http://www.technologyreview.com/view/426174/undercover-researchers-expose-chinese-internet-water-army/).  You can usually tell by the bad grammar in anti-apple posts made by people with American sounding names. Once you notice it, it seems to be very, very common.

Some research has estimated it to be 40% of online posts!  Samsung was sued for it in Taiwan, but who knows where else its done and by what companies.  I'm guessing a lot and wouldn't be surprised if 'bendgate' was related to that kind of 'sponsorship' of reviews.  </conspiracy-rant>

No, people are justifiably suspicious of Apple's behaviour over phone defects. The Iphone 4 arrived with an antenna grounding problem - Apple at first denied problem existed, then decided that affected customers were at fault for holding the phone the wrong way

My partner's 5S had the battery draining problem, but she was able to exchange it after a few days.

Stuff sometimes happens. Stuff will continue to happen into the future. It's not a weird conspiracy based on stock prices. Companies get things wrong sometimes, news at 11.

Not seeing widespread reports of failures this time - but it's still early days. Who knows, maybe only a small number of phones suffered from a manufacturing or assembly defect?

Still seems weird to me that a mainstream tech reviewer could bend a phone, without meaning to, just through normal use.

This is a new video, no bending before the video is shot, but does show that doesn't take much.

Actually this video is making change my mind about the 6+ that I have on order. It might be going back to Apple before I open the 6+ (cancel button has disappeared from my order placement).

Apple have said they are not going to send them anymore samples to review, kind of like a ban.

It takes 75 pounds of force, no mystery.  Consumer reports tested it.

Some people online seem to be amazed their hands can produce that force.  I can easily break an iPhone 5, iPad, or any other phablet/tablet.  You probably can too.  Sure some are stronger than others, and some fare better when thrown against a brick wall too.

The only issue for me is whether this would happen in the front pocket of a normal person, and no confirmed reports of any issues there.  Hard to imagine that happening with the info out there now.

I walk into a car dealer ship. I crash the car into a power pole outside. I hurt my head. I'm not going to buy one now cos it bent so easily. Especially since the company is making profit selling this car. How dare they. Oh and the model they made three years ago was a dog too.

Its not that weird, the reviewer (wired?) said it was in his back pocket and he 'probably' sat on it.  I'm not amazed the phablet was damaged.  He didn't say how much he weighs etc, but assuming he's an average mildly supersized american male, it would be crazy to think the phone would survive that at all.  They are really tough.

Yes all brands of phone will have hardware defects, but when apple has one, its blown out of proportion.  We can only speculate as to why.

Ah yes, but if you buy a large heavy Korean SUV the pole would break!  My SUV is better than your car haha!  You are a car fanboy carsheeple :)

Apple revoke media accreditations to company who show #bendgate by bending an iPhone6+ seriously you CANNOT take ANY review of iPhone seriously when they go out their way to affect the outcome of reviews by actually refusing to deal with media companies who provide honest consumer reviews.

I like my IPhone 6 and am quite a fan of the iOS universe and devices. However, it's increasingly apparent to me that Apple as a company is pretty despicable. First the e-books price fixing, employee salary fix job alongside the likes of Google, and now this bendgate business. Pathetic.

Crashing a car into a power pole is pretty full on, really not a fair comparison, or smashing a TV with a baseball bat.

I don't like seeing this stuff, as is rather discussing behaviour. Although I have to wonder about the actual rigidness. These kids bend it like it nothing.

Do I have a cause for concern, yeah certainly as I have dropped 1.5K on the 6+ model, just waiting for it to turn up now. Looks like would have to buy and big old super fat hard case to keep the 6+ in.
