It's funny how this thread has turned into complaints and criticisms from people who don't even have or want an iPhone..
Err, well it is an impressions thread.
On pricing:
Of course, it’s a free market and, as always, there will be takers at Apple’s price.

On pricing:
- Apple are pricing the less-desirable iPhone 8 sporting an old design at the same price as other new bezel-less flagships.
- Apple are pricing the iPhone X at about $300 above other flagships that offer (and led with) similar technology and specifications.
Of course, it’s a free market and, as always, there will be takers at Apple’s price.
It's also getting close to base model MacBook Pro price territory
The whole X just feels like design by compromise to me, ugly notch, ugly gui workarounds and gestures, no touch id, terribly expensive, and when you're showing off animated emoji's as a key design feature you know they've run out of ideas..

And as usual they will outsell every other flagship on the market as has happened every year since the iphone 6 in 2014

Wrong.
Iphone sales have been dropping for a couple of years.

Wrong.

Compared to what? The previous years iphone?
Care to provide something to back that up?

Yikes, correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like the entry-level iPhone X is NZ $500 more expensive than the Galaxy S8?!
Both 5.8" bezel-less screen, both 64GB (although the S8 is expandable)
iPhone X $1,799, Galaxy S8 $1,299

Nothing new about unlocking by face recognition ... I bought a phone in 2013 that did it.
But it ultimately wasn't convenient so I reverted to a pattern unlock.

The correct comparison is the Note8 actually. so $1,799 vs $1,599
Still expensive in comparison, not to mention Samsung discount virtually from day dot, which is likely why their sales figures are catching iPhone.
1eStar: They'll use Roman annotation for the Premium version I suppose. Next year could be 9/9+/XI
I wonder is Tim referring to is as iPhone 10 was actually a mistake?
I'm down for iPhone X 256GB. What's the best procedure to get one via the Spark tradeup programme? I currently have a 7 Plus with them and I should be eligible to upgrade this month.

So your saying that sales dropped given the 7 number is about 2/3 of the 6s? Given that the 7 was only on the market for about 3.5 months, is almost salat that sales of the 7 were tracking to beat the 6s?
Either way, the table is misleading as it doesn't include the two different versions of the Samsung Flagships on sale over that time period.
Indeed. If you're going to claim that sales are going down over time, you need to have time as an axis on your graph!
This is the graph you probably should have included:
Apple had a few bad quarters in 2016, but sales have generally been going up, and the last two quarters (not in this graph) have shown sales climbing again (level in Q2 and growth in Q3).
