I've been using the 32GB ATV4K for a couple of years now. I've never once encountered anything that would require an additional 32GB of storage.

I am going to place a pre-order for the new Apple TV 4K tomorrow, directly with Apple NZ. Free engraving included 😎.

I know that I don't really need to upgrade, but its possible that some future updates will need to use the full processing power of the new model. Plus I use my present ATV 4K for all of my apps (Netflix, You Tube etc.) so it is worth it to me.

Which leaves me with an Apple TV 4K spare.

That's helpful, thanks. I'm buying my first Apple TV, so now just need to decide between the HD at $259 versus the 4K at $299.

Will probably opt for the HD. Interesting, in advance of the new releases a lot of Apple TV's hitting trade me with asking prices $200+, why would you bother buying second hand at those prices - esp given they come with old remotes and no warranty?

Get the 4K, for $40 your future proof for 4K content. Pretty much any new TV in the future will be minimum 4K

Apple resale, its the type of product which sits in an entertainment case and just works

I agree. Go for the 4K. For just an extra $40 its a no brainer

Well, I just pre-ordered the new Apple TV 4K directly from Apple NZ. No option for engraving appeared, but I suppose that would make it a bit harder to sell at a later date. Free shipping!

Shipping dates are May 25 - 31.

Same here. Also ordered a 'new' 4K 32GB today to upgrade the older Theater Room ATV-4K (A10) that will rotate into the Lounge Room where a ATV 4th Gen exists.

That ATV 4th Gen will replace an original ATV 3rd Gen in the Family Room that is now well past its use by date and will become a nice paper weight I'm guessing.

If you have 2 Apple TVs in the house, is it possible to clone one and keep them in sync? Apps, log ins etc….

Would be so much easier than setting a new one up from scratch and then downloading and logging in on two different devices.

can you clone one apple tv to another

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Thank you. Do you think I could find that when I googled it? All I got was articles form 5+ years ago.

Ordered the new remote this morning. So excited for that mute button.

It’s a shame apple couldn’t do a software update for the original Siri remote that turned a double press of the down volume button into a mute. that would have made sense.

(that would have not made Apple as much money)

21/05 - 27/05 for us. Our first Apple TV. Have been using the Apple TV app on the Sony TV until now, which at least meant we could hire and buy a few movies while waiting for the new model to be announced.

OK - in the time it took me to write and post the above the items are now in the AirPoints Store.

https://www.airpointsstore.co.nz/home-and-tech/electronics/apple/accessories

AirTags still up

32Gb TV taken down

64Gb TV was there but never had 'Add To Cart' option, now taken down

HomePod mini was never there.

Spoke to Customer Service yesterday concerning 64Gb TV and was informed that Apple store gets priority so it looks like NZ orders via the Apple store has been very strong and 3rd party resellers are missing out at this time.

Oh well will keep checking the AirPoints store daily.
