chiefie: Actually thinking more and more so... with iOS 9 App Thinning, and the reduced monthly subscription of iCloud Storage plans, I think 16GB would be sufficient - I've been using 16GB iPhone 5, and with 20GB iCloud Storage for Photos and Backups etc... I've taken the hard and fast discipline on keeping what really matter to me with me and not every little things. So I think it is possible to get along just fine with 16GB.

I have a 64GB 6 Plus and have only used a fraction of the storage. I have  photos set to go to One Drive (1TB) and I delete them off my phone on a regular basis.  I also think  16GB is probably enough.

not enough when you're on a 1 week holiday in the middle of nowhere :) ....

Then you just USB/OTG the files across to a flashdrive, or use a wifi HDD, portable router with mSD card, the options available to cater for occasional big data use are plentiful and probably money better spent than extra storage space on a phone that gets replaced annually or biannually

joker97: all i'm interested is 4K video ... does the 6S (non plus) get 4K video too?

How are  you going to show 4K video on your 4K TV??  Not with the new Apple TV and it's a complete waste  viewing it on a phone screen..

I don't have a 4K TV

My old Apple TV has so many crashes and network errors I would never buy another. Every time it comes up with "We can't access that content right now, please try again later" my wife says, "God I hate Apple!"

The only way to get it to stream content after that  is reach over the back and pull the power cord, wait 10 seconds and plug it back in.

Yeah, they don't know how to make decent products or stable operating systems... and you'd think that it would sort out your network issues for you!

Hmm funny, all the other devices work just fine. And I know I'm not the only person who has a flakey apple TV

and because Apple thinks all their products they are so perfect they have decided that useful error codes are completely unnecessary.

I'm not sure what they were 2 months ago, but I paid $999 for a 16GB iPhone 6 on launch day.

Are we likely to find out if it's going to be available off contract before the pre-orders start? Thanks for the info you've given though.

And on launch day, please please please have another emoji queue! my one from last year needs a friend. :P

Wow Apple has exchange rate prediction software too huh. OUr currency. Slump happened a Month after the pricing revision. But their software was off target as the slump was greater than the price revision!

That isn't bad pricing considering how much the NZ dollar has dropped. But I guess they know if the price increases too much, many people couldn't afford one. I think the new leased option could be a good option for many, with free upgrades as new models come out. Don't think it is available in NZ though.

We already have the lease/upgrade thing for new phones via the telcos (currently 2degrees and vodafone).  Also sounds like spark might be doing something soon as well.

I think the new one is run by apple directly. Do the telco ones let you upgrade when the newest model comes out for free when it is released? I suspect apple would be able to do it cheaper than a telco, and you will also probably get the new phone quicker if using apple.

Changing the topic slightly, does anyone know if the new Apple TV keeps the optical audio out, or does it only have HDMI?

If you go here and scroll down bit you can see a picture of back and there is no optical audio. It also doesn't mention anything about optical audio in the list of "ports and interfaces"
