I've downloaded the app and used it a few time now. Credit where its due - it seems pretty good. Some bits of the UI are a little hidden but its stable and has good content and functionality. Still don't understand why it took them so long but better late than never - well done TVNZ

F rom what I past read, perhaps rights with Samsung? But yes, its a good alp, its all there, clean.
JonoNZ: Is it just me, or is just SD?
Its just you. Live streams are vastly better than SD. Duke is better than its SD OTA broadcast. My guess is it's 720p60 on all live streams. You can actually see it switch from 360p?? to 720p within 10 secs of startup (it replays around 3 secs). Looks acceptable on a 46".
I was doing a comparison of Coro Street 1080i and the ATV stream and thought that ATV stream was only slightly inferior but hard to tell difference.
Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

I measured the throughput on TVNZ1 @ 1.2 GB/hour or around 2.5 Mbps.

Having been critical of TVNZ for not having an Apple TV app, I must admit it was worth the wait. In a day of minimal viable products and agile software development with a defect list as long as your arm, it is refreshing to see a relatively polished initial release.
In my opinion ,the TVNZ app is much better that the TV3 one. Well done.
Installed on Saturday morning. Impressed. It works, and seems to work well. I had no issues with Live TV, and OD.
Of course, they should not rest too long on their Laurels. 1080 and 5.1 would be nice TVNZ :)
rugrat: Seems to be 7 add breaks in a 44 min show, beginning, end, and 5 during.
Also they make the first one a bit into program and put them closer together towards end of show.
I know they're short but be better to be a bit longer and fewer breaks, I find the way TV3 does adds is better.
The applic is well polished, and I'll probably watch Duke live on it for better quality.
I'll be avoiding the OD part unless they cut frequency of add breaks. Half of them for just advertising OD lol.

kharris: If I have watched something and want to watch it again it always starts from the end (where it finished last time). Is there a way to start from the beginning without having to pause and scrub in reverse back to the beginning?
