Hi, I am really enjoying my Apple TV4, after I forgot about the price, never now go to the TV Smart Hub. Have no aerial so all content is via the internet.

The App store has all the usual suspects but no TVNZ on demand. I emailed TVNZ but never got a reply, the rumour is that they signed some exclusive agreement with Samsung, is that true and if so when does it expire?

Cheers, Martyn

That would sound about right, they've done this for the smart tvs and android devices too, except you can side load on android if you can find the tvnz ondemand app... Sucks to be fair but they're not the first!

But they have an iOS app so why not on the Apple TV?

Or at least allow you to Airplay to the Apple TV, which is what I have been doing with my free Neon trial and it works great.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Yes I can get TVNZ on demand using my computer and then airplay to TV however I want to make it wife friendly i.e. just the Apple TV remote, have everything except for TVNZ and she who must be obeyed watches Coronation Street...............

huh - interestingly enough I sent a feedback/comment (just today) to TVNZ OnDemand about the lack of AppleTV App and the inability to use Airplay with their existing Apple app. The response that came back was that they are ironing out the finishing touches for a new app that should sort both airplay and AppleTV out....I am dubious tbh - but live in hope :)

Almost agree, it needs TNVZ OD, plus an App for Sky FanPass and Lightbox for it to be the one device I 'need'.

Lightbox app is in the making, and considering Sky owned Neon is in SD, doubt the FANPASS app will be anytime soon

Welt least you got a reply! Anyway Zen Pinball has just appeared on the Apple app store so who needs TV, excellent graphics and gameplay - now I need a wireless game controller.

Commented on their Facebook and they said "We may look to devices like Apple TV in the future..." - pretty pathetic, considering how quickly TV3 were able to update their app.

Hmm just posted a response to your message on the FB page as the response I got in mid/late Jan seemed pretty clear that they were working on it and it was in the later stages of testing before the next release :\

Has anyone heard anything else about TVNZ OD for the Apple TV 4 since Feb?  I'd like to think that it is coming but the months are ticking by.

Its the same with NEON and Lightbox.

No AppleTV App, no interest.

About to dump skyTV, so it Freeview and Netflix and I am going to look at overseas streaming sites.

The longer these companies delay, the more people will learn to live without them. Its far easier to keep customers than to win them back.

yeah I think that the information I got from TVNZ support was more spin than reality...They certainly seem to be very good at driving people away from their content.
