Would seem a perfect time for a lot of you to reconsider who supplies you with your phone network.

For the sake of a few days delay in supply you can get yourself a supplier who wont treat you in such a way as this.

So seems only a very small amount, did vodafone quickly order some in from Australia to have some sort of launch at noon?

Amazing how big companies can mess things up so much.

So much misinformation is so annoying. And now midday ... I might have to go queue in Queen St soon, goodness knows I'm not going to get much work done just sitting here refreshing pages ><.

JimmyC: If VF is holding back stock whilst they repair a deal with Apple I'll be extremely pissed.

But still buy one from them later...

It'll be the Apple store for me. VF are only selling to new contracts and re-signs apparently, another reason to end the exclusive 'deal' the two have.

I'm doubtful now about getting into a new contract with Vodafone. I feel a bit of sadness after all the launch muck-ups, lack of info and just general sense of rudeness towards customers who, after all, SHOULD be the most important asset to a company of Vodafone's size.

Vodafone has provided me with mostly good service, but it seems they have a tendency to screw up in orders of magnitude higher than the good service they deliver. Lately, the good parts have not been offsetting the bad ones.

2degrees is looking a lot better.

Someone from VFNZ probably flew to aussie this morning and queued up to buy some at there opening and is due back about midday with about 10 to sell here LOL (I have not spent time calculating time zones & fight times)

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

ahmad: Not that anyone cares except me, but someone seriously needs to do some formal investigative journalism into this scandal.

Seriously.

People can say "it's just a farking phone - get over it!"

People can say that this is an orchestrated PR campaign.

The fact is that hundreds of people have been shafted by Apple and/or Vodafone in relation to this in terms of time wasted both online and in real life waiting in line.

WTF? Telling people who queued this morning that launch is cancelled only to relaunch at 12pm?

Way to screw people over. Well played.

Personally I'm not affected by the queuing as I didn't/won't queue. But this is farking ridiculous.

Agree this is ripe for a good bit of investigative journalism... but if people are silly enough to stay up all night and wander the streets in the hope of getting something that was only guaranteed to alter their bank balance... well thats their problem.

Unless of course somewhere down stream in their live they commit unspeakable acts they attribute to this launch and expect tax payers to fund counseling them through to a resolution

Let them eat cake

Any attempt to "investigative journalism" will result in official PR people spinning things. You will only get some truth from whistle blowers - and then how do you know it's the truth?

No one will ever get an official story. Like when Vodafone launched the Google G1 with naked girls in body paint and then had to remove the handsets from the shelves, after launch day. Google wasn't happy, but the real story never really came out.

magu: 2degrees is looking a lot better.

It is a REAL shame they haven't been able to mobilise in time for today. With all the ball-dropping today it would have been perfect timing to be launch. Or maybe they have an embargoed press release for 11:59am? Cool

So, who thinks that the silence on the 32gb pricing is a strong indicator that they do not expect to have any stock of it to supply?

If you aren't after a 16gb today, you might be in for disappointment?
