From "pending" yesterday to "ships when stock arrives" this morning

How bad is this CRM...

Is not that hard to say "we don't know when Apple will provide some stock. The estimate is blah blah blah. As soon as we confirm, we let you know."

Not ideal, but honest...

Seems like Apple are supplying their own back orders before supplying to the telcos

My 7+ Matte black 128 arrived this morning... About half an hour ago I got an email form VF saying it was on its way, and here is the tracking number... Seems their notifications are around 24 hours late...

Just received my 3rd email from vodafone saying congratulations your in the queue for a new iPhone.

Just incase I had forgotten :roll eyes:

Anyone got any news to share with the group? mine is still stuck on Pending.. we are still working on your order.

A lot of pissed off people in the VF community forums-

"I share your frustation! I have been going around in circles with Vodafone re the same issue, and am also a loyal customer. I have spoken with many different representatives and they all give very different or contradicting information. I have been given the run around and false information since my pre-order which was launch day, and still do not have my phone. I have friends who pre-ordered after me (the exact same phone) and have theirs already. This whole "first in, first served" is a load of @#*!. The "other" two major mobile phone providers received stock this week and have started shipping as of yesterday, yet Vodafone hasn't!"

Does the blame lie with Apple or Vodafone?

For the first time mine has changed from "Ship when stock arrives" to "Expected to ship October"... WOW it's close! October is this Saturday... :D

Suggestion: if you go to Apple website and select the model you ordered, maybe you get a rough estimate...?

This is something i've been thinking about - Does the estimate from Apple take into account their queue of orders for that particular model?, what kind of priority do the telcos get? if any? do Apple look after themselves before making sure the telcos have enough?

So there are jet black 7+ in the wild from Apple and still no word from Vodafone...

Apple seem to be really screwing over the telcos here.

I believe the reason Apple refuse to post sales results is they don't want to show how poor their supply has been this time around. Not sure if its a ploy to keep the phone popular through the xmas period or there is a legitimate issue with supply, either way it doesn't seem like it is a surprise to Apple that they can't/wont keep up with demand.

If it helps, my order went from estimated date -> invalid -> 'Ships October' -> Pending (for 4 or so days) -> Ships when stock arrives (this morning) -> invoiced and shipped.
