Vodafone are offering a bonus 6GB of data for the first 6 months for pre-orders on certain open term plans - however this is not rollover data.
Spark have a bonus 4GB for 12 months offer.
2 Degrees have no extra data offer, although their plans are usually rollover data.
anyone noticed that spark has iPhone Pro 512GB Max 2649.00, 200$ cheaper than apple store.
Balm its gone!
I have a Gem visa card on it's way - 12 months interest free when I do preorder. I usually loathe credit products but this will be handy and I certainly have the means to pay it off over twelve months.

It's beyond me why anyone would stuff around with our useless telcos and their pre-orders, given their traditional inability to guarantee stock/availability. This particularly applies when people are ordering the pros, which is clearly a luxury device -- so if one can't afford to pay for it upfront, financially speaking it's best not to bother. From what I see with Spark, they aren't doing any kind of subsidy for signing a contract, thus it's hard to see the attraction.
Well, I can't speak for just anyone, but I can sure speak for myself (having just signed up with Spark today for a 128Gb Pro). My employer pays up to $200 a month for my mobile phone. So I'd be stupid NOT to claim a $79 unlimited plan, $10 hotspot extra, and $91-odd-over-24-months every month. The plan itself is open term (so I can cancel it at any time if I need to) and I'll take the risk if I no longer work where I do before 24 months is up (unlikely but always possible I guess).
Even without that kicker in place, if I had to I'ld still rather buy a phone interest-free over 24 months than throw down $2000+ on a consumer device, despite having the liquid capital to buy several hundred of the things. Up to now I've been living on a dilapidated iPhone 7 I bought after my Samsung Galaxy S8 wore out - it's just a phone, after all. And frankly I can control my consumeristic urges enough to wait an extra week or two for Spark to fulfil my order if need be.
Torque: @boxdog If you end up wanting to sell off the '7 (& depending on condition) - let me know!
I suspect a few will be doing this. I will be one of them once I decide if I want the Pro or Pro Max. Then I'll have a Black iPhone 7 128GB in good nick up for sale... keep an eye on the wanted/buy/sell section!

Hey mate, it's unlikely I will - my other half will probably end up with it. It's actually not that dilapidated. It's got your usual wear and tear and stuff but it has a 9-month old genuine Apple battery replacement (now at 91% SOH), and I think she wants it so she can put her 6S to rest.. But I'll let you know if we decide to sell it.
I'm contemplating switching back to Apple from my Samsung Note 8. However, there are a few features which I'm quite attached to now, like fast charging (and fast wireless charging). Does anyone know if Apple does fast wireless charging, and whether it's comparable to the speeds seen on Samsung/Android devices? I had a quick google, but wasn't able to find anything particularly illuminating...
Looks like my SE will be kept for another 12 or more months (started with a 3GS, then a 4S, then a 5S, then the SE).
ALL the new phones are too big, I have no interest in them.
If the SE dies, I will probably just get a dumb phone or a feature phone, there is nothing about the iPhone that is a "Must Have" for the price Apple Charges. Heck I could probably get away with an iPod touch and use FaceTime and Facebook messenger for the 99% of time I have wireless access.

I would wait for tests to show how fast the new iPhones charge, but I'd wager it won't be anywhere near the faster Android speeds, so nothing above 7.5W.

You maybe able to buy a cheap second hand SE 32 gb on trademe in good condition for about $150- 200, which is quite good pricing if you compare it to what older gen ipod touches are going for. I did this and got one in almost mint condition, so I could continue to use my apple watch. There will likely be an SE2 with the iphone 8 form factor but updtaed specs, early to mid next year.
