Vodafone is still trying to sell of its old phones to the unsuspecting NZ public so why would they annouce the new one.

I would have expected Telecom to announce it is coming (if it is) but I guess as long as they do it before people have to pay for the Vodafone one, they have plenty of time. Maybe they want too uncut Voda once it announces its prices (if they change?).

Yeah I think this is what is happening:

1) Apple has made them hold on their announcements until they sell more of the old stock or;

2) Apple has made them hold on their annonucements because they are still in negotiations with Telecom or;

3) Vodafone is waiting because they want to sell their old iPhones now and Telecom dows not have a deal.

Have heard that Telecom wont have the iPhone until after Christmas so looks like Vodafone trying to quit the old stock before they make any announcement.

If Telecom Dont have the Phone until christmas, then thats pretty poor considering they are trying to get new customers to join there XT Network. I dont think we will have to wait that long though. :)

Vodafone NZ website now has a header on its front page saying iPhone 3GS will be launched by them 'in July', but it just links to the apple website description of the 3gs..  I guess its confirmed, we just gotta wait for a specific date from Vodafone now...

I just searched 'iPhone' in the Telecom.co.nz search bar and found an interesting help article:

"Will the iPhone work on the XT Network?

We have already revealed two great devices today including a world first. For any future devices you will need to keep an eye on our Online mobile store"
http://telecom.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/telecom.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1682&p_created=1241654801&p_sid=t6_i_HAj&p_accessibility=&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MTYsMTYmcF9wcm9kcz0yMDImcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3BhZ2U9MSZwX3NlYXJjaF90ZXh0PWlwaG9uZQ**&p_li=&p_topview=1&p_prods=202

Sure, its pretty vague, but it kind alooks like Telecom is confident of getting it one day. Then again this was made before the XT launch so who knows.

Anyway just an aside while we wait
