Got a text from Vodafone to say I'm now on my new 24 month contract... (funny considering my old contract expired on the 24th October)

Put in my OSxxxxxx number on Vodafone site and its changed to "pending"

Just recieved an Invoice via email so my order has been processed and it will be picked up by Courier soon.

Checked vodafone.co.nz says "pending" still....

Will hopefully be here next couple days, I'm seriously thinking of putting my Jet Black model straight onto Trademe and buying a matt black 7 plus

A friend of mine bought a 7 Black 128GB directly from Apple on the first pre-sale hour and they have changed the shipping date 4 times as well...

Wow this is some coincidence - we ordered the exact same phone, at the same time, from the same place, received the invoice at the same time, posted in this thread saying we got the invoice at exactly 12:09, and we have the same last name!

No word of a lie, as i went to click on your notification this morning i got a knock on the door from Courierpost.

Hadn't received a tracking number or anything. Only the tax invoice yesterday.

Enjoying the phone so far. One tiny blemish out of the box on the ring between the screen and chassis which is unusual, but ill live with it.

Are many who ordered from VF still waiting?

My wife ordered within 30 minutes of the release time and still does not have hers or any sensible update from VF.

When you put the order number in the website box it just says "Pending.. we are still working on your order"

It depends on the model... My wife ordered 1 week after the first pre-order day and got hers a long time ago... but it's rose gold...

It depends on the model... My wife ordered 1 week after the first pre-order day and got hers a long time ago... but it's rose gold...

They have a slightly vague graphic queue indicator on the VF website - if you want a 256 matte black 7 Plus, the queue appears virtually non existent. Same phone in shiny black? Huge queue!

When I ordered my 7 Plus Jet Black 256GB the "queue" was less than 25% of the bar, and I still didn't get it.

The fact that the 7 Plus Matt Black queue doesn't look that long doesn't mean one would get it soon... and at this point, what is "soon"? :)

Agreed. It's all a bit vague.

What is odd (to me anyway) is that Apple never seem to manufacture even close to enough units so that launch does not descend into farce. I can only infer that it is a deliberate act.

Yes, to create some level of scarcity on purpose is part of the game, but I can't remember it ever being so bad as it is now. Also, all the reported issues about the low yield rate (4 to 6 in 10) specially on the Jet Black chassis, could explain it but hardly justify it as Apple definitely knows how difficult is to produce one handset of each specific model beforehand.

That being said, I don't think they were expecting such a high demand for the Plus models.

The reported problem is on the finishing of the case only so they don't have to assemble the whole iPhone to refuse it, but this problem is supposedly causing significant production delays...
