Looks like my SE will be kept for another 12 or more months (started with a 3GS, then a 4S, then a 5S, then the SE).

ALL the new phones are too big, I have no interest in them.

If the SE dies, I will probably just get a dumb phone or a feature phone, there is nothing about the iPhone that is a "Must Have" for the price Apple Charges. Heck I could probably get away with an iPod touch and use FaceTime and Facebook messenger for the 99% of time I have wireless access.

You maybe able to  buy a cheap second hand SE 32 gb on trademe in good condition for about $150- 200, which is quite good pricing if you compare it to what older gen ipod touches are going for. I did this and got one in almost mint condition, so I could continue to use my apple watch. There will likely be an SE2 with the iphone 8 form factor but updtaed specs, early to mid next year.

My SE works fine.

An iPhone 8 is bigger than the SE, so I have zero interest. The physical size of SE works well for me, bigger phones don't.

I find the SE size works well too. But I did have a 6s for a short time, and quickly got used to it and didn't find it too big to use one handed, sole because of the reach-ability feature. You just tap the touch ID twice and it brings the screen down instantly, so everything is accessible from the thumb one handed. The physical case size and weight difference is also minimal when in the pocket. This reach-ability feature is missing on androids, which makes the equivalent sized android phone less easy to use.  . The problem is that there are no decent alternatives to the SE screen size in modern phones, and it was also the last one with a headphone jack, which I use all the time.

I'm eyeing up a 11 Pro Green 256G... Looks like it's out of stock for 2-3 weeks on apple. Any ideas what my chances are of popping into a retail shop early friday or saturday and just picking one up in Wellington CBD? Online stores seem to think 20th/21st could be a pickup date, but I don't want to preorder and find it's not coming for weeks anyway.

Any idea when the review embargo ends?

Also, if I ordered on the apple store directly, I'm assuming the phone will be with me on Friday?

So, long time Android user switching to iPhone this generation.

What are the chances carriers will offer some specials, ie bundling or extra stuff etc? Has that occurred previous years or is it mostly a Android Game?

Yeah down the line I’ve seen retailers discount the larger storage models but that’s normally mid cycle.

Anyone in Wellington who has been through this process before know roughly when they are likely to deliver on Friday? Are we talking middle of the day or late afternoon or what?

Weirdly, every iPhone now has at least a 5-7 business day shipping window instead of a Friday 20th. Anybody know the reason for this?

Is it? Just last night almost all iPhone 11 models still had a Friday 20th shipping window then just this morning they all are 5-7 business days window. I can’t imagine a bunch of people ordered each configuration of the 11 overnight.

I work in the CBD now but previously I'd get them delivered in Wellington's northern suburbs. Some years they arrived at 8:30, but typically mid-morning and I think the latest one has ever arrived has been about noon.

When I lived in Broadmeadows it was always afternoon, guess it depends on the suburb and how many deliveries your DHL driver is making

Are you in Auckland? I saw last night if I changed my postcode to say Dunedin, the delivery time was days longer.
