So I see you now get Hulu Plus on the Apple tv (as long as you are setup to use a US i-tunes account).  The subscription is billed via i-tunes so you don't need a US credit card.  7 day free trial as well.  Had a look last night and think I will stick with Netflix.

I think the market is getting saturated - Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, igloo/sky, iTunes offering digital content - would be interested to see what happens in the coming months

Hulu blocks access to overseas Apple TV owners

Not really. For consumers in general only a very few are available in New Zealand and of those none brings overseas TV shows. All other options require some level of sophistication - using VPNs, international credit cards or debit cards that pass some sort of authentication (please do not post about those here, we know which ones), and so on.

The New Zealand general public still have a lot more music options than video.

Still working here, although I'm using some of the above tricks of the trade.

I was using it on sautrday. For something that I've actually got access to on netflix as well.

Must say the netflix experience of watching old tv shows is much better - because o fthe lack of ads.

But supposedly Hulu will have newer tv content. But I did notice a lot of the newest tv content is web only, which wont work via mobile or apple tv.

Not sure if I'll keep it yet...
