I'm loving my new iPhone 5 but am experiencing a bit of an issue with the Bluetooth audio streaming. I own a 2010 Toyota Yaris which has Bluetooth audio built into the factory installed stereo system. My 3GS running iOS 6 streamed to it perfectly. It showed 3 bars for the signal strength indicator, like the 5 bars you get for a cellular signal on your phone. I paired my new 5 to it without a problem, but a day later noticed that when I turned the car on, the Bluetooth audio playback cut in and out, and I had no bars on my signal. At first I thought it was my case, but removing it didn't help. I've also tried unpairing and re-pairing the phone. The audio always cuts in and out after the car first starts, then it comes right for a few seconds, then it starts cutting out again. It does that one or two times before it finally settles down and plays properly, although I never get any signal bars.
Is anyone else having the same issue? I note on the Apple forums that people are having problems after upgrading to iOS 6, but can't find anyone reporting my exact experience. Is it likely to be the software? Should I take the car down to Toyota to get the computer updated?
