What is the best video format to load short (<2min)  videos onto a web site for viewing by Apple devices.

As we are likely to change the videos which are attached to links, we wont load the videos on to You Tube as changing the video will require a new loink.

Any advice of best video format for viewing over Apple devices is appreciated.
