I plan to buy an unlocked iPhone 5 from the Apple store in the US before returning to New Zealand to use it.

All the carrier websites (2 degrees/vodafone) say it should work. However, I note that iPhone 5 is only LTE or 2G compatible with NZ. Given we do not have LTE, does this mean I will only be able to use 2G and not 3G?

Thanks for your help

iPhone 5 works in all 3G mobile networks in New Zealand.
