There is a Web app I use. You login to a page, collect a largeish lump of text (several pages)(a coded weather forecast), then ctl-A to select it all and ctcl-C to copy it. Off to another page and paste it into a space which drops it into a translator.

The iOS "Select All" option is not there when I have a browser page showing. "Select" is useless ....

Any ideas? There's an app called "Action Menu" from Cydia which looks exactly like what I want but it's not in the app store. After an hour of mucking about with links and download accelerators I didn't want and Christchurch mum's earning $8k a minute I gave up .....

Interesting.

I just had a look, and judging from a post on the Apple forums, what you do is touch and hold to select a word and get the two blue dots (you know the ones, at the beginning and end of the word). If you drag the first blue dot to the top of the web page, the other blue dot automatically jumps to the bottom of the page and you can "copy".

Here's part of the post -

--- snip ---

I've been fooling around since I wrote the first post, and discovered that if you tap and hold to display the selection buttons (as noted in your quote) and then drag one of the blue selection buttons to the top (or bottom) of the text, then the other button will jump to the bottom (or top) and you have effectively selected all the text. This is what I wanted to do.

I just tried it on my iPod Touch and it worked.
Does that help?

Press and hold on the screen over the text you want to copy - click on select all, click on copy, go to new page/document/whatever, press and hold, choose paste - done.
