This is a question regarding ActiveSync 14.0 (Exchange Server 2010 and above) where the handset can be used as an SMS gateway (sending and recieving using the handset MSISDN and not an external number), allowing users to send and recieve SMS via Outlook 2010 or WebMail.

Windows Mobile 6.x supported this, and Samsung Galaxy phones currently support this. NitroDesk TouchDown allows other Android devices to also support this feature, now wanting to determine if the iOS version also supports it before I upgrading to iOS 5 (required for TouchDown).

Looking at the features list for iOS, no Messages/iMessages mentioned: http://nitrodesk.com/touchdown/ios/

Good point. They explicitly state it as a supoprted feature in Android, while no mention at all in iOS, I think I'll assume it's a no.
