So I am due to update my Iphone4 around now, and remembering back when I got my Iphone4 was a week before the Iphone4S release, I was gutted as I paid (the company did anyway) full price for it, when had I waited, or known to wait I would have had a step up.

Reading the rumours around Iphone5S/6 we could see a release as soon as 10-14 June to coincide with WWDC or as late as September.

There is nothing wrong with my Iphone at the moment and have never had any issues, in fact the phone will be going to someone else in the company.

Help me make my discussion, do I order my Iphone5 - 64GB now or wait for 2 weeks?

BTW I don't think that if Apple released a 128BG phone I would bother, the only reason I have a 128GB Ipad is that I want to store high-def movies on it.

ya thats another point. iphones prices dont generally drop.. until the next one is released and the older model gets bumped down.

one of the best places i have found to buy iphones is duty free (although it usually takes about a month for it to be available there after launch), as its 15% off the prices outside. Alternatively, australia is a decent place to pick it up - you do save some bucks.

Then wait for the new iphone. Then purchase the iphone 5.

Been thinking of switching to an iphone for a while now. So if I could find a decent deal on an iphone 5 I probably would grab it.

What sort of price drop are we looking at when the new phone is launched? Not really interested on signing up on contract. I am quiet happy on my current Vodafone $19pm Smart plan.

From the past patterns, what they will do is replace the current iPhone 4s with the iPhone 5, replace the current iphone 4 with iphone 4s. So you can expect to pay around about 899 for the iPhone 5. Not really a huge price drop, but a drop nonetheless. Personally, I would pay 200 more and get the latest and greatest. Or just go to Android Wink.

HA yea I agree.

I'm already using Android. My wife has been given an iphone for work and I'm hooked.

Just do it now, there's no right time with buying technology, else you'll be wondering if it's worth waiting for the next iPhone after that.

Take a look at the Samsung / HTC whilst you're at it.

I am VERY tempted by the S4 but too much invested in the Iphone at the moment to change.

My car stereo uses Iphone, my alarm clock actually most of my appliances rely or use Iphone!

can't see the point in buying now as its only a few months till new one is usually released then you have the latest and greatest otherwise you may rue not waiting.

haha, i see your point where Apple has become so integrated with everything, that breaking free from it is damn near impossible.

I would have gone with iphone 5 when it launched. but then i thought about it - it is the same old software, nothing much has changed since it was released. so its not really revolutionary anymore - same old thing for the past 5 years.

Hence me going to Android. something new, keeps changing, keeps getting better. And now, Google Now (the app), is so awesome. Its so much of a hassle to be without it actually (I am using a temp iphone till my Android is getting fixed up).

So does mine, but I personally switched to Windows Phone. There's no point hanging on just because of a plug, which has changed anyway. You're going to have to purchase either adapters (flimsy, cost $50 each) or just go with something like [this], save yourself some money and get the phone you really want.

Don't forget iphone 5 onwards is using lightning connector so a lot of your devices may not easily accept new iphone anyway

Personally I would hold off and wait for the new device/s as I suspect it will be the biggest change in iphones to date, they have fallen behind in a lot of ways so need to make up some ground fast. Depending on the big screen and camera rumours coming to fruitition I will update the wifes i4s to a new jobbie upon release as she is finding the small screen a hassle these days and the ip5 jsut doesn't cut it in her opinion

At least wait an see what is announced at WWDC. It's only a couple of weeks ago.

At least then you should have an idea of what is coming up next and if it is worth waiting for it.

Personally, I have always been a bit of a late bloomer.

I usually upgrade about 6-8 months before the latest model comes out and never really feel like i have missed out at all.

That might change with the next one, but having just leapt into a new iPhone 5 a week ago, I can honestly say it's like putting on comfortable slippers that have been made from a slightly better material (terrible analogy, I know).

I have had an iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S and now 5 and I have followed this late upgrade pattern all the way. Don't regret it for a moment.

It's all very personal - if a high MP camera, fingerprint recognition and permanent 4WD with traction control are important to you - wait until Sept/Oct for the new one.
If not, pull the trigger.
