I see that the touch has just been reduced to $349 NZ I presume for when the cheaper Iphone gets announced or maybe just the new iphone 6 ...anyway for what ever reason that seems like a good deal. So I thought I would have a look at what was different between the touch and the 5. Now as far as I can see other than camera and processor speed and the obvious phone ability there ain't much difference or am I missing something?

For someone like me who spends most of there time around home or places that always have wifi might be nice to have

Looks like a nice unit for what its for. For me its completely redundant as I have the iPhone.

Storage might be an issue if you want to put a lot of music on it. From what I understand its only available as a 16GB version. If you want more you have to go to previous version (Which has camera and is a bit dearer, but has the same CPU).

No it hasn't, and it is interesting that people think that it has been dropped in price, because you are not the first one I have heard say that. It is actually a new ipod 5 gen model, and is only 16GB. It also doesn't have a camera, so it is a dumbed down model of the ipod touch 5 gen. Even the previous gen model had a camera. I think it is more of a music player. It replaces the previous gen that they were selling alongside the current gen. The previous gen doesn't support IOS7, so they had to stop selling it.

I wouldn't buy an ipod touch these days, because they no longer release it with the best processor. They used to in the older versions, it used to match the iphones processor. Now it is a generation behind. Even though it was introduced with the iphone 5, it's processor is only an iphone 4s one, so will likely be supported in future IOS versions for a shorter period. There isn't probably all that long to wait for a new version of the ipod, or maybe they will skip an update this year. It's pretty pricey though considering an ipad mini is about the same price.

I think they are trying to match some price points with the new iPod touch.

I do agree that they should have put the newest processor in the more expensive models.
