cant send emails from ipad mini,every time i try to send one it comes up with "a copy has been placed in outbox,the sender address "example@slingshot.co.nz"was rejected by server,im positive i have correct user name and password,any ideas anyone?

Xtra are having problems with their smtp server - could be the problem rather than the ipad.

What smtp address are you using?

What is the complete error message?

nitrotech: Xtra are having problems with their smtp server - could be the problem rather than the ipad.


This should be fixed.

OP I'd suggest as Johnr says, advise what SMTP server you are using and are you using Slinghshot Broadband when you are encountering this error?

the complete error message is "a copy has been placed in your outbox.the sender address myname@slingshot.co.nz" was rejected by the server.

smtp im using is smtp.slingshot.co.nz

dont know if this is related but i cant delete emails from my ipad mini either.

Check for any strange characters in the email address field. If you have copy and pasted it from somewhere else you might have put a tab or something at the end of the address.
