It is possible to watch the America's Cup live via the TV One website.
A race lasts about 1 hour.
Does any one know how much data will be required?
This is not TV on demand but a live broadcast.
Reason - to work out how much data required (and what simcard/plan to use) to view while out of wifi range.

Thanks

Is there not an app for the Americas cup that has live video?

His question remains valid, how many MB will a live TV stream (either via and App or browser) chew up in an hour?

I used about 700 mb yesterday watching the news on my iphone which is probab ly a pretty similar feed.

I'd budget on about 700 - 1gb.

Yes. Watching the odd half hour show on my mobile with TVNZ on demand uses around 300-500mb depending on the actual length of the show.

I have the "America's Cup iPad App" on my iPad. I use that to view the race almost live (about 5min delay) and I use my PC to hook into "Virtual Sailor"  which is on the America's cup web site. This is also available on the App if you wish to view that. You can get TVNZ feed via the browser on an ipad and I guess an iPhone if you prefer that to an American commentry. TBO the animation gives you are far better Idea of what is going on than the video feed, which comes into it's own with the close up shots.
It really is great to have all running at the same time. This mornings tace used a total of 720mb.
Hope this goes some way to help
