Hi I recently bought an Iphone 5 from a friend but when I inserted my telecom sim it doesnt pick up any signal it says telecom but no signal however I am able to use the mobile data and browse the internet and also if I use a vodafone sim card it picks up signal could my phone be blacklisted on telecom? or could it be hardware issue ?

are you sure you weren't browsing internet on wifi?

with telecom you must enable 3g - check that first

Yup I am sure I wasnt using the wifi and yes 3g was on =(

Sounds blacklisted have you called Telecom and asked? All they need is the IMEI from the handset

Yeh I was thinking it could be blacklisted but I am able to use the mobile data which confuses me cos I read a similar post he was able to pick up signals on other networks but not telecom then he found out later it was a anttena problem. No I havnt contacted telecom yet because I am still trying to figure out the symptons of a blacklisted phone. Then I could probably ask my friend to ask the seller for a refund

Or go to the Police, as the most probable reason for blacklisting is it is stolen.

Check your date and time is correct then wait 60 seconds and reboot (push power button for 5 seconds and slide to power off) the power back on and see what happens.
