When in Wellington - the closest 4G to where I live - I find that my iPhone responsiveness falls dramatically.

For example, typing into the search bar in Safari becomes laborious, with repeated pressing being required before a letter is entered. Sometimes opening/closing things takes ages and so on.

I get round it by just switching 4G off.

However, I understood 4G was supposed to be 'better' than 3G and in this case it really isn't.

Have I got a wrong setting somewhere or something, or is this just how it is?

Can you do a speedtest? Certainly if low signal, phone could be having trouble camping onto 4G, thus as the iPhone is doing its big brother thing sending all your keystrokes to the Apple Core, it could be suffering time outs.

I didn't have any issues when using 4G for a brief period pre-Christmas.

No probs with my 5 of VF 4G in Wellington,

Are you running the most current ios version?

Could be a good case for a backup and restore
