I still have the original iPad, though it is getting a little tired now and many new games for the kids won't run on it.  WOuld love a new iPad, but I can;t justify the expense just yet.

I find the full sized iPad surprisingly good to type on.  I've tried typing on a 7" Android tablet and found it hopeless.  I'm expecting an 8" iPad would also be hopeless to type on just because of the shrunken keyboard, but have not tried it.

What's your experience typing more than a single sentence on the 8" iPad?

Hopefully they are going to bring out a larger screen ipad with a wacom pen, which will turn it into a proper productivity device. Currently I find the ipad a bit of a toy and mainy for comsuming. Whereas the windows surface is more of a productivity tablet, but that too needs a bigger screen.

I went from a full size iPad 2 to the mini retina and cant say I miss the extra screen size. What I do like is the smaller size of the mini overall for reading etc. Although in saying that I believed the air is super light so may not be an issue. horses for courses depending on your use case I suppose.

I have the iPad Air. Sometimes I find it a bit too big and wonder if I should have bought the Mini.

I think that if you mainly use an iPad at home, then the Air is probably the best option. Whereas if you regularly carry the iPad with you, then the Mini is better.

The iPad Air 2 is rumoured to be coming in September or October, with an A8 chip and Touch ID, so if you're still reasonably happy with your Mini, then I'd wait until the new iPads are released before making a decision.

I bought the ipad air before Christmas, then sold it a month later & bought the retina mini.
I found the ipad air too big and cumbersome, nice but just too big for me. I am happy with the mini, just as fast & screen is just as nice, i just hold it closer to my face.
Some things maybe are slightly more fiddly with the mini but i find the trade-off in size & weight, portability to be well worth it.
Everyone will have a different experience, depends on if you have small hands, what your eyesight is like & whether you just use it at home or cart it around a lot & what apps you use.

All good comments and reasons I think to stick with the mini

Thank you all for comments Now if the Ipad mini came with the ability to actually make "Real" phone calls Then a Pig in brown stuff comes to mind!
