Hi,

So I have a Ipad air, had it for around 6 weeks,
Google Chrome keeps crashing constantly, I removed it and re-installed it, didn't help much,
it just seems to be chrome, I have installed all software updates. I am also using the latest version of IOS,
I think it's mostly only happening when I have facebook open in the chrome browser, but I don't see how that can be the cause....
tonic water got spilled on the screen a few weeks back but none got inside and I just let it drip off and dried the screen,
am I best to just use Safari as they seems ok....

Not sure why you would use Chrome as the primary browser on the iPad. As you say its not very stable and does not seem to be any faster than Safari either.

For Facebook I would use the Facebook app, its pretty good.

For Facebook I would use the Facebook app, its pretty good.

I use Chrome on all my devices, I just don't know why it's started crashing, maybe as it's a apple device it's best to use safari...

Facebook crashes Safari on my iPad all the time. Mine is the first lightening connector version iPad. I might have to try the app.

I have a similar issue with Chrome on my ipad mini retina - if I check the crash logs it appears to be a low memory error which is normally triggered by certain webpages with lots of images or dynamic content. pain in the a** that it can't fail gracefully..

iOS seems to be designed in such a way that apps run until there is insuffient available memory to sustain them, at which point they are forced to quit.

This makes for a really horrible user experience and it's surprising that Apple haven't found a better solution given how tightly they tend to control things.

Ok so head into settings, about, diagnostics & usage after your next crash and see what *.ips files exist and what clue they might give as to why its crashed.
