Faster (still Haswell) CPUs, double the RAM (but not SSD size), and a slight price drop on the odd model.

No Broadwell CPUs, but nice to have more bang-for-buck nonetheless.

Previous gen MBPs on reduced pricing in refurbished section as usual.

The non-retina MBP appears to have dropped $200 - I guess they'll keep it around until the next (2015) refresh, before dropping it completely.

Fingers crossed for a Mac mini update too! A reference alegedly appeared on apple.com to a Mac mini Mid 2014. At last!

Cheers,
Joseph

I'm looking forward to eventually moving to solid state storage and retina display, but at this stage it looks like the performance of the 13" models still falls short of my two year old machine with 2.9 GHz i7.

^If you factor in the SSD in the overall performance of the 13" it will probably exceed your i7 if it has spinning disks.

Hmm, it is rather enticing to see the refresh also sporting a slightly lower price tag... I'm almost convinced to run out and get the MBP 15" to replace my desktop. Just still... not... quite.... sold.....

MBP + External 4K Monitor = pretty darn awesome desktop setup that you can unplug and take with you anywhere :)

I was going to buy the base 15" but for another $100 I think a referb with 512GB SSD & The second graphics card is a better deal so have ordered that.

How 'used' are the batteries, does anyone know?

That does sound good, but I was looking at going for the top end MBP for 3.5k.. dunno if I could justify another $800+ monitor on that :P

Although, I do have a couple of 24"'s that I am using now, so wouldn't be so bad.

Hmm... this year may get costly!

Any consumable is replaced, they pretty much reuse the SSD, and system board (inc RAM, CPU etc), and you can put Apple Care on them.

Have you considered the base 15" refurbished model for NZ$2,119?
Also look out for 10% off discount from retailers like Dick Smith :)

That would be my guess, since Apple wont want to put a Broadwell-M chip into a MBP because of the performance
