I have a work iPhone that was not originally mine- it belonged to an ex colleague before his departure. I reset the phone and all was fine and dandy, but I now need to travel internationally for work. This might be paranoia, but I know that phones are occasionally cloned by customs at some borders and I want to know anything the previous owner may have done for <ahem> personal reasons is well and truly gone.

I've looked in the App Store but can't see anything. Is there a data wipe that scrubs slack memory etc?

Cheers
Jon

Or you've ever been to a meeting opposed to the GCSB/NSA global surveillance.

It's not paranoia if they are out to get you.

Thanks. I was looking for something that just wiped slack space, but I see a full wipe is just as effective, and I did that when I took over the phone. Hmmm. I have been known to tweet my objection to NSA/GCSB surveillance, never attended a conference on it though. If I don't post again for over 10 days, come looking for me. What's NZ's equivalent of Gitmo? Fiji? sealed

Cheers

wow, must have missed that!
Seems like there is more too it than what is being reported.  I travel a lot, and with what would be considered more HDD's/laptops than one would normally need and never been checked on it.
Kinda creepy though
