Not getting an IPhone myself however I always enjoy seeing how many people are lined up, what the atmosphere is like etc. If you are in line post some pictures or videos!!

What's it like? Any free food?

I went to the 4S midnight launch in Auckland. Lift+ Girls, Blankets, Coffee.... we were treated pretty well by Vodafone.

I would love to go to one of these events when I eventually upgrade my 5S, but not if it means I have to sign a 24 month contract.

Guess I will find out in 45mins but keen to know if I should stay up and buy at midnight from Apple online or will they not be available until Morning (9am?)

When you order it from Apple at 11am there will be a wait likely or over a month.

Besides it isn't as much about lining up it is more a social outing, something to do, a bit of fun.

Cant say I agree with the whole emoji thing, I don't think its fair on those that are willing to queue the old fashioned way. Its just not cricket old boy.
