I'm looking for a decent car mount for my iPhone 6, I don't use a case so that isn't a factor in the decision.

It will be windshield mounted on the right side of the steering wheel so I can reach it with my right hand.

Requirements are:

- Stick extremely securely to windshield - since it will be right next to the drivers (sometimes open) window.
- Holds phone extremely securely - for same reason as above.
- Quick and easy to take phone in and out of
- Rotate portrait to landscape one-handed without have to make adjustments to the mount.

There are lots of options out there, but none that seems to meet all my requirements so was hoping for some recommendations of car kits people have used that would fit the iPhone 6.

As long as you can get past having to stock a metal disc onto your phone body (or sandwich it between phone & case, or use +drive specific case) I can whole heartedly recommend the logitech +drive jobbie

The phone literally snaps to the holder and can be rotated to any angle, the generic kit runs to about $69rrp and comes with two metal discs than can be stuck to any phone

I use a HTC One and moto g, neither are lightweights and it holds them firm with no jitter or other issue in everyday use

I think I might hold off and get either this or this (depending on how it needs to be wired to my stereo). And then this to mount it. Too bad they are not released yet :(

More expensive than others, but it ticks all the boxes.

I bought this one from Noel Leeming for my Galaxy S5, has different sized 'fingers' to fit large and small phones, and you don't need to use all of them either, I just use two on each end.

I've had it stuck to the window for about a month, still as solid as the first day it went on, doesn't wobble at all and the spring loaded fingers are strong. Was impressed given it's fairly cheap.

I got one of these from the The Warehouse a couple of weeks ago Brightlink Window Mount Holder V2 and its still doing the job.
Not much detail on the website but I can check the dimensions it holds when I get home as I still have the box.

They also have a $10 one, this failed very quickly for me and the phone was falling off all the time so I'd avoid that.

+1 for Proclip. Can't vouch for iPhone 6 one, but been very happy with the 5 series mounts. Well made and very secure.

davidcole: I've bought two of these.  They're fairly universal:

Had 2 of these.  Rubbish product IMHO - the bit that holds the phone doesn't last.

I've still got two if them. Used for a year or do now. One small repair on one, didn't think much could beat their price.

I'm looking for a mount for my 6 plus. I've seen some cup holder ones, that might be ok. I don't think a windscreen mount is going to cut it for this huge phone!

Cheers
Joseph

A little mixed experience so far with Tomtom's smartphone holder. Its been good for the 5S, but was slipping with the 5S lately and slipped with the iPhone 6 Plus first time I used it. But I have not given up hope and used it for a few drives after the slip without problems.

Wind screen mount:

Air vent mount:

BTW: This mount can be used on top/bottom and on the sides of the phone.

I got this in from the states, well worth the money. Currently use it for my note 3 in a thick case, my wife uses it for her iPhone 5

Real easy 1 handed mount, swivels and tilts. Absolutely no vibration.

I did have a Galaxy S3 so purchased a Samsung windscreen mount (excellent quality and design). I now have iPhone 6 plus and it fits very well in the Samsung mount.
