Just announced, the thinnest iPad ever.
Might be time for me to finally update my ancient iPad 2.
Pretty impressive specs in such a paper thin device.
Anyone else keen?
Had to smile at the suggestion that people would use the fingerprint feature with Apple Pay. Yep, I'll just pull my iPad out of my pocket to pay for my coffee!

You can be like one of those people too that takes photos with their tablet,
saw someone using one with a tripod the other day.

I know I shouldn't but I always quietly laugh at folks taking pics with tablets.😊😈

My wife loves her iPad Mini. Its a full iPad in a very convenient size. I see no Apple TV, I had hoped the "it's been way too long" was for that.
As for the OP, happy with my 128GB iPad Air Cellular

I'll be up for one to replace my iPad 3. Maybe it's just my imagination but the iPad 3 does not seem to play real nice with iOS 8. Also I find the 3 to be very heavy compared to my wife's Samsung Tab S. Moving to two-thirds the weight and two-thirds the thickness will be great.

I have been looking for an indication of release date in NZ but not seen anything yet. Usually 2 - 3 weeks after US IIRC.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Yes they never advertised that an upgrade to iOS8 on your older iPad would slow out down so much that it makes you want to buy a new one. My 3 is now just horrible to use and no way that I can find to downgrade to ios7

I like the finger print unlock on my iphone, could be cool to have on an ipad. I'm about to buy a new one anyway. Stuck between the mini 2 and the mini 3. My opinion is that the 8 inch size is the portable sweet spot. Depends on the pricing, if its significantly different I might just buy the mini 2 instead. Just seen the price drop on apple.com/nz for the mini 2. Very tempting just to get one of those.

We upgraded (well, supplemented actually, as we still use it) our iPad 2 when the iPad Air launched last year. It was a welcome upgrade for us, so it should be even more so for you.

MY iPad3 seems fine on iOS8.02. Apart from it being a bit of a heavy beast compared to the newer ones, I see no need to upgrade it yet.

I, too, had hoped for an update for the AppleTV, you'd have to think there is so much more Apple could do with these little devices.

mine is not unusable, but it is frustrating to use.  Slow animations, slow to switch apps, slower loading apps, launching apps.  Everything is sluggish after upgrading :|
