Hi

I will be travelling to the States and may pick up an Iphone 6 there.
It will be for use on the Vodafone network here in NZ.

To get an unlocked one I can either buy from apple or a carrier. My understanding is that the Verizon phones are unlocked and should work here?

Any advice appreciated.

A1549 (CDMA): This is considered as the world phone version. It supports all the same spectrum frequencies as the A1549 (GSM) and also includes CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. If you are doing it to save money, then think again, infact it may cost you more with the current ex rate

US unlocked 16GB =$649 64GB=$749 128GB=$849
at .77 ex rates + 15% GST
the NZ eq. prices are 16GB=$970 64GB=$1118 128GB= $1269 (with 0 US sales tax)
NZ rrp are 16GB=$999 64GB=$1149 128GB= $1299

If you are buying in a US state with a sales tax ( most of them) you could end up spending more than it would cost in NZ

and consider the free "extended waranty" you'll get if buying personally (ie not a business) in NZ with the Consumer Guarantees Act
