Hello New Zealanders,

We're an app company in Australia currently building an app that will have NZ specific content. My plan is to build one app and present different content for users in New Zealand. I'm hoping to query the NSLocale setting and show NZ content if the value for the currentLocale is "en_NZ"

So my question is, how reliable is this value in New Zealand? Is it like 95% of the time "en_NZ", or only, say, 70%? I imagine this value could be wrong if the phone was purchased in a different country (and the the user was not switched on enough to change it).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated,

Mick

If NZ users have their regional format setting set as NZ under settings then it will work

I would say more than 95% would have this set accurately

iOS will default to NZ if you use an NZ SIM during initial setup, so I agree that the vast majority will have this set correctly.
