Well i've released a beta of my first attempt at a native iPhone application.

"Search" is a little app which adds functionality which is strangely missing from the iPhone:

1. Searching Contacts
2. Picking a date, and going directly to it in the calendar app.

Download it and have a play. Feedback appreciated.

To be honest, I don't know where the name comes from originally. My business partner came up with it, and I thought it had a certain ring to it, so when with it.

yeah, you can use independence, but it seems to screw the permissions up when it loads it. (removes the execute flag for some reason)

you can fix it by ssh

Hey dude I downloaded this the other day thru installer.app, didn't realise it was written by a Kiwi, awesome stuff!

Feedback? IMO you have to get rid of the shareware reminder notice. Whilst I appreciate that you must've invested quite a bit of time in the app, that sort of reminder is a real turnoff. I removed it straight away once I realised it wouldn't go away :/

I agree ... however I do find it handy having 750+ business contacts in my phone ... 1 thing i Noticed some of my personal contacts obviously dont have a company name ... and my Address book is setup to view by Company ... if i type a name like John Smith ( Neighbour ) it shows up but with the WORD NULL? so if I have 7
" NULL " appear I have to search through them to find the contact I am looking for ... Im not complaining because I think it is a great wee app just an observation. :)

Ooooo and yes written by a KIWI !!!

I'm releasing an update (hopefully tonight) with a few more features.

The null thing seems to be a quirk of how different programs handle the naming of companies, and how that's stored in the DB's the phone. Seems to be a problem with ex Treo users who now sync with the iPhone. This update won't fix that problem, but i'm looking into it, and should be fixed for the next one.
