Hi All

I had a play with a friend's iPhone recently and was gobsmacked to find that Xtra's Yahoo!Xtra webmail platform seems to be optimised for the Safari browser on the iPod Touch / iPhone.

I was expecting to find the Yahoo! Mail interface a bit awkward on these devices with lots of zooming in and out required, but I found that if you navigate safari to mail.yahoo.com and sign in with your Xtra username / password, you are presented with a different interface to the one you will find on your PC / Mac. There is no zooming or panning around required, the interface adapts to the safari browser perfectly and sending / reading mail is an absolute breeze. Even the 'Yahoo!Xtra' logo is adapted to 'Y!X' to fit the smaller screen.

For me, this makes the lack of email client on the iPod Touch much less of an issue and if I were Telecom I'd be telling people about it rather loudly!

Have you tried it on the touch yet?

No I haven't but since both browsers are identical and identify themselves as the same type of device the same thing will definitely happen.

I would *love* to try this, but my iPod Touch is currently sat at the bottom of my wife's wardrobe, where it must stay until 25th December! Frown
