HI all,
I recently repaired an iphone 5s that had been dropped. I replaced the cracked lcd screen with a new one. All is working perfectly fine on it now except the cellular reception.
I bought a new Spark sim card from the store with a random number on it to test it.
One the top left it comes up with the carrier showing Spark NZ, but with the 4 bubbles displaying reception there is no indication that it is getting any signal.
I have checked the antenna inside to ensure it is connected properly and the solder to ensure it hasnt broken.
Everything else works fine on it. The headphone jack, charger port and the WiFi.
Just wondering if anyone technically minded out there would have any tips? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Is the date and time correct?

In the about screen does it have an imei number?

Did you use anything metal on the logic board during this repair?

How could time and date impact reception?

If you pull the battery on an iPhone it will show no reception bars until the date and time are correct and the phone is restarted.

Google it - plenty of home repairers think they've stuffed their phones after repair

3g antenna connector is by the battery clip - the connector is easily damaged if it's looking OK then it could be a whole lot of things firstly look under a microscope to see if you've knocked any components off the board.
