My wife has been given an iphone 4 from a friend and has handed me her old iphone 3s
my question is how do I get my contacts...etc... to show on  the 3s?

I've taken the sim out of my old nokia mobile and put it in the 3s and charged the phone up, but when I go to messages it has all her sent and received messages on the screen and under contacts none of the people on my contact list from my old nokia are there

does anyone know how my contacts can get on the #s

I don't really want to sync the phone with my music...etc... because i-tunes is set up with her 4s and if I do that I might bugger up her phone if she goes to sync it...

Assuming the contacts are saved on your sim, go to settings -> mail, contacts, calander, -> Import SIM contacts.
It sounds as though she hasn't cleared all her content out of the phone first? Best to do that first. Go to settings -> general -> reset, erase all content and settings.
