Hi Geeks
I've been searching for a less expensive way to use a cellphone (preferably, though not necessarily) my own iPhone 4s when travelling in South America - mainly Peru and Brazil.
Spark roaming costs are too dear, even at $10 per day as w'e'll be travelling for about 40 days.
Would anyone know whether I can use Peruvian/Brazilian SIMs in my phone?
Or any other cunning plan to avoid high call/text costs?
Skype and the likes won't be suitable as we'll need to call hotels etc who do not have Skype. We're not familiar with VoIP - don't even really know what it is.
Many thanks for suggestions. :-)

Cheers, Chrissie :-)

If NZ carriers offer roaming in Peru then the networks must be compatible with the handset, Check out picking up a local SIM when you arrive
