Stoked! I got my iPhone today and it's even more fabulous than I had ever hoped!

Only thing is I removed some stupid programs (annoying app+language pack+Chinese txt prog) because a couple of things weren't perfect, and now it doesn't work.

Restore+Jailbreak+Unlock tomorrow.

That is all.

Just wondering, what if Apple officials see these posts where people get iPhone, unlock it and use it, lol Laughing

That would remind them how users like iPhone and should bring in some solution soon...wouldnt they ?

Lol what an idiot huh?

I think I got it going again using the iNdependence tool though!

Yay! :)

Anyone know which format I should use for my contacts??

095287XXX for auckland etc?
+6421 etc?
021?
027?

Don't worry, I'll probably brick it again anyway!

Cheers

:)

Always use the international format + [country code] [area code] [number] to make sure it works while roaming.

Nope, I somehow doubt it.

Even though I am no fan of the IPhone I see you can get genuine unlocked ones from T-Mobile in Germany for the little price of 999Eu

When I've got time I'll post up what happened with mine and what I had to do to get it going again (including getting my contacts off sim).
So far so good, seems everything is working except youtube! :)

If you're getting the "You must first connect to iTunes..." error, there's a fix for it in Installer.app. Just add this repository http://i.unlock.no/ to Installer.app and then install "YoutTube Activation".

I had the same problem in 1.1.1. Updated firmware 1.1.2 is fine though.

Also, you can use SIMport to import the numbers from your simcard. Just have to make sure you card isn't locked (pin sim lock).

Add http://tinyurl.com/2m38oe to Installer.app repositories and then install SIMport by easy-soft.
