Hi all,

My partner's iphone 5 cannot connect to the 2degrees network since yesterday - No Service message is displayed.

The phone worked perfectly till yesterday and when I put her simple in my phone it works fine.

I've done network data reset and a factory reset with no luck at all.

We switched from Vodafone to 2degrees about a month ago.

I also called 2degrees - they said to go to Settings >> Carrier, but thats not an option on her phone. They then said we should contact Apple. ..

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Has the phone got the latest OS installed?

Have you tried another networks SIM card in the phone?
If so, what happened?

Have you tried backing the phone up and restoring it completely as a new phone?

Please go over to this page to ensure your phone has not been marked as lost or stolen: http://www.tcf.org.nz/content/cfa46b54-509c-44aa-91da-3bfe14d20f8f.html

I
f it has been marked as stolen it means you're holding a paperweight and you're going to have a tough time to get it running again unless if you can prove you own it.

Go to settings then about - Is the Imei listed?

Hi,

Yes, latest ios 8.3 installed. I did a factory reset which wiped it clean (after backing up first) and then set it up as a new phone again - no luck

I have not tried using a different network's sim - may have to give that a go

Thanks for your reply

I checked the phone's IMEI and it is not black listed. I bought the phone for het outright from Vodafone NZ in 2012. It was then identified as being affected by the battery issue and a replacement phone was provided by Vodafone in 2014. From 2012 to end of April 2015 the phones were used on Vodafone and then we switched to 2degrees at the beginning of May. The phone worked perfectly till today

iOS8.3 introduced additional settings under settings->cellular for 2g/3g/4g - perhaps worth checking?

A sim from another provider would be worth a shot, do a backup of the phone then a complete factory reset. Does the wifi still work?

Where are you based? Is your 2degrees roaming on Vodafone? Perhaps local cellsite issue?

I'm in Woodridge, Wellington - not sure which provider's tower gets used up there.

WiFi still works and when I put her sim in my old iphone 5 it works perfectly
