I'm finding that while Siri understands all by commands and says they are being performed, not all of them are.

E.g.

"Play Tom Jones" says it will play popular songs from Tom Jones and it does.

"Play Imagine Dragons" says it will play popular songs from Imagine Dragons, but then nothing happens.

It's like Siri understands the command, but doesn't always send it to the Music app.

Are other people having this happen?

For me, Siri doesn't seem to be using Apple Music, rather she's just using my own library.

I just tried "Play Imagine Dragons" which she did, but only the one song that I have in my own library. When I hit Next, it just ends the music because there is no next song.

So yep, definitely some issues there to work out!

Does "Play Tom Jones" work (assuming you don't have Tom Jones in your library)?

Good to know it's not just me.

It's really weird how it just doesn't work for particular specific request.

I saw a funny CNET video where they asked Siri to play the theme from Breaking Bad, but instead got "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri (theme from the Twilight: Breaking Dawn movie).

The feedback site hasn't added iOS 8.4 yet, so can't even report it!

Siri seems to send all my song requests to apple music, there were a few mistakes leading to random songs not in my library being played. My question is if I request a song through siri will it play the song locally if I have it or will it just go direct to apple music?

PS Have you asked siri what zero divided by zero is?

Yes, but I don't know how she knew I had no friends. I have know idea if it plays the local copy or not.

Did you try the specific examples I gave? There seem to be heaps not working for me, and the same is happening on my girlfriends phone.

If I say "Play Eye Of The Tiger", Siri responds with "OK, playing 'Eye of the Tiger' by Survivor...", but the song never plays.

But if I say "Play Ghostbusters", Siri responds with "OK, let's hear 'Ghostbusters' by Ray Parker, Jr..." and then the song does play.

It seems random what does and doesn't work, but is also consistent in that a command that doesn't work will never work, and one that does work will always work.

Could you try these specific ones and let me know what results you get?

Yes I'm having the same problem as you said, Eye of the tiger doesn't play but Ghostbusters does. When I tried it last night all the songs I tried worked, guess I was just lucky. One of the ones I tried and worked was Coldplay Sky Full of Stars.

I guess with Apple pushing for quick launch date there are bound to be lots of bugs. The most annoying thing I've found is that the whole music app now is apple music oriented. Eg there is only one tab now for what previously use to be all the tabs along the bottom. But I am happy about the addition of the upcoming list like you find on iTunes, but even that was buggy when I tried it.

Yeah, hopefully they release an 8.4.1 update and don't make us wait until 9.0.

Another annoyance is that if you choose to add a song to a playlist, you can only select playlist that you have already created - doesn't give you an option to add to a new playlist.
