Can't find any listed on TM... Almost never used these days, has had very limited use since buying new in mid 2011.

In very good condition - zero scratches on the screen or body, one small dent on a corner... Would give it an 8.5 out of 10 (I'm fussy). Has a Logitech Ultrathin bluetooth keyboard case/cover thingy too...

Can't think offhand which iOS it's running - possibly 8.0

Thoughts?

As they are no longer even available on the refurb site through Apple, I would say that it's probably not worth an enormous amount

You might be lucky to get $150-200 for it if it's as good as you say, condition-wise.

The problem with these is that they are a bit slow and laggy now with the updates that have been introduced in iOS...our one is OK for simple stuff, but you don't want to push it too hard...just slows to a crawl.

I think there was a 64GB cellular on here recently, $300. I'd agree with $150 to $200. iOS9 which supports iPad 2, might help the lag too. By maybe optimisation, but more so to allow more stuff to be off

I understand IOS9 is supposed to give older devices a second lease on life.

Good info, thanks geeks! Was thinking about $200, might try my luck on a local Facebook buy and sell page to see how I go.

Interesting to hear about iOS 9 breathing life into older devices too, thanks for that little nugget!

I reckon you may still get $200 - $250 for it without much trouble. We just sold my sons old one (16gb) and got $220 for that, no problems. Latest iOS runs quite nicely on them IMO.

I agree, there may be a few bucks more in it from the layperson looking for a first or schoolgoers tablet. We'll see...

Mine is running iOS 8.2 and seems pretty good to me too...

The beauty of the ipad 2 is they pushed so many through the education sector that they probably have to provide support for a longer than normal timeframe, let's not forget the ipad 2 outlived the ipad 3 :P

A small dent on a corner could mean it has been dropped, so that would likely affect it's price. You will probably get the best price by selling on trademe. Luckily for you, apple has supported this very well, and it is apparently getting ios9. If it wasn't still supported by ios update, I would say $100. But as it is, you may get $200+

Listed it on my local Facebook buy and sell page for $325 ono, had messages within minutes, one lady and her 14 year old son phoned me to view immediately, 30 minutes later, sold at full asking. Had 2 others wanting to buy it too...

Go Apple for sustaining value and go FB B&S pages for speed and no fees!! Result!

Pretty good result, especially as you didn't have to pay trademe fees. That is one reason I like ios products, if you pick the right one, you can often sell at a good price.

Pretty good result?!?! I think if I'd gotten any more for it I'd have risked accusations of being a rip off merchant! I probably could've gotten $350 for it but who knows... there's a fine line between perceived good value and lack of interest. I think I judged it about right and both myself and the buyer are very happy!

Amen to this. I blew everything away and started from scratch with 7 after 8 practically killed my ipad2.
Ridiculous lag on that and haven't been game to risk an upgrade since.
