Hello

So i went to swipe my phone, nothing.
pushed menu button, nothing.
Cant access the screen to do anything, even log in.
Siri will work, but will not unlock a phone for you.
Tried to go through iTunes via laptop but got told to access phone to allow sync.
Which i cant do as im locked out.

The screen has completely stopped working and this is about 24hrs after latest upgrade. Someone suggested i access the back and remove the battery?

Phone 5s

Can only take a screen shot via both buttons and access Siri, thats about it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you the original owner?

Might be blacklisted? Not sure how that works.

Will it reboot by holding home and power buttons down?

Blacklisting doesn't lock the phone - all it does is the phone connects to the network, but doesn't get any signal. All five signal dots are empty, but it doesn't switch to 'No Service'.

To the OP: Sounds like the touchscreen has died tbh.

+1 hold them both down for 10 seconds then let go of the home button - hopefully it will reboot.

Woooooooooooooooooooooow!

Thanks i was holding both down but only till i got the power off slide which I couldn't use.

Yes it works

Side note; it really is true, you can unscrew those little screws at the bottom with a nail. Just take your time and a little pressure, once they are moving you can then use a knife to finish it off. But I had to stop there as i had no suction cup to pull the screen up. Hey! i was getting desperate.

You know those little plastic feet that come with your DIY kit furniture from the Stationary Warehouse and the like? you usually get enough for the corners and they have little nails attached to them that you hit in with the other end of the screw driver because you cant be bothered going back to the garage to get a hammer? well that's what i used.

Stripping the pantalobe screw heads will make it difficult for future repairs.

You have to take real care lifting up the screen even with a suction cup its really easy to break the screen and if you lift it up too much/fast you'll break the home flex on the 5s.
