So what do folks here think, will there be a new iPad Air this year given it's coming up to 365 days since the last release.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I don't think so, Apple are putting their money on the iPad Pro and have released the iPad mini 4 with the same specs as the Air 2

It'll be the called the iPad Pro Mini, and come with revolutionary new 3D Siri.

I've heard rumors that there will be a new iPad about 6 months from now.....a kind of 'mid cycle' refresh since it missed this years refresh.

Its happened before with the iPad 3 or 4 (cant remember).

No. My opinion is if there were going to be a new version, even just a small spec update, it would have been announced at last month's event. Look how much the iPad mini 4 changed but it barely got mentioned.

I'd read a few things beforehand saying it wasn't going to be updated as it still has a lot of untapped processing power, plus it allowed them to focus on the iPad Pro.

I wouldn't be surprised if the iPad Air 3 comes next year with things like 3D Touch.

I am thinking the same, I feel there will be a slow down in tablet releases in general.

Macrumors has already stated that there won't be a new one until 2016. The current one is still the most powerful ipad apart from the ipad pro, and the air 2 is more than powerful enough, and it isn't really lacking anything as it is a mature product.

Agreed. Apple may do a 'quiet refresh' which they are becoming accustomed too, with the iPad Air and thus it will be the iPad Air 3. However it seems this year Apple is focusing on the iPad Pro. By updating the Air 3, they are giving customers less reason to purchase the Pro - even though there is some obvious separation between the two. It will probably definitely be updated next year!
