hey.
i bought an OTB 1.1.2 iphone when i went to new york for christmas.
unfortunately, it was 1.1.2 and so i bought a sim unlock which arrived today.
i put it in the iphone and it worked for several hours until it stopped working and showed me a no sim message or an incorrect sim message. i took a look and one of the legs coming off the chip was broken.. so i sent an email to the manufacturer but i sent that like a few minutes ago so i dont have a reply.
also, i kind of doubt that they will send me a replacement or anything.
so.. a question

do any of you use a 1.1.2 OTB iphone in NZ with a sim unlock? [turbosim, sweetsim, silversim, iphone sim freer, nextsim ect...]
if you do, can you please tell me where i can buy one in nz.. [i live only 1 minute away from broadway, newmarket.. so it will be nice if there is a seller there.]
if you sell one can u pm me or write a reply here?
or anyone planning to sell one?
or anyone willing to swap a 4.6BL phone with a 3.9BL [I'm 4.6] phone?
or has anyone got more than 1 sim solution?

any hope for me Cry?

thanks...

I don't know if Turbosim works on a OTB 1.1.2, if some one else can confirm that it does, a quick google nz search will return lots of places to buy from here. If it doesn't work you may have to wait a while until they figure out the software unlock for OTB 1.1.2. Unless of course you want to take the iphone apart, in which case check out this thread: - http://iphone.unlock.no/bootloader_downgrade.htm

Your other option would be to put you OTB 1.1.2 on ebay and buy a OTB 1.1.1 from someone here in NZ (or overseas), it will probably cost you more, but what is the point in having it if you can't use it, you may as well get a iPod Touch

Sorry that's the best advice I can offer

Cheers

Hay,

I sim hardware unlock will work on all firmware versions because what it does is tricks the phone to thinking it has a AT&T sim instered, thus making it hard for apple to patch this, they tryed to by making you have to activate you phone/sim, but this is worked around.

I am using a turbo-sim in my US OTB 1.1.2 with new bootloader, i am unable to help you find on in auclkand, but i know htey sell them here: http://www.iphoneunleashed.co.nz

I have inquired about ninjasim to, and they say it will work on all firmware versions, tested on US OTB phones ect. and they are alot cheeper than turbo sims. Link here: http://australia.ninjasim.com/.

Make sure you have iworld installed to.
