First, my apologies if asked and answered. I have searched and not quite found the answer. I have posted this in the ios forum also. Which is why it may seem apple centric at the start but am too lazy to retype.
My wife has an iphone 5s running ios8, it's a personal phone which she also uses for work. So there's her work email set up in the Mail app as primary.
She also has her Spark email account. She uses this for personal email. That is also set up as an email account in the ios mail app.
I don't use Apple products and have looked everywhere for the setting but....
The problem ~
It's a 16GB phone. It's starting to get full. So we tried to iCloud backup everything and delete off the device. So far so good.
We noticed that there is a massive amount of email being downloaded to the phone. Deleting that will help storage right?
So we deleted much of the email. It came back. We deleted the whole mailbox. It came back. We deleted the account and reloaded it. ALL the email came back.
Her Spark email account is a sub-address of my account the primary Spark account.
I use android so am unfamiliar with Apple. But I have tried, and tried, and tried more to stop the email downloading the WHOLE account.
It seems there is a sync issue between Spark and the Iphone. In Android there's a setting "Show email from the last (7) (14) (30) days". This doesn't exist on the iphone (or if it does I can't find it).
It may be an iphone issue which is why I am asking here. But it may be a Spark Yahoo Mail problem which is why I have posted to that forum also.
Bit that's irrelevant to ios forum~
I am wondering if it is an issue with her Yahoo email settings. I cannot get to the page which says keep on server for (30 days). Is this because it is a Sub account to my account? In fact I can't even really get to the settings page on my Spark account, I click on settings tab, it takes me to an old Xtra email page, click the link to Mailbox settings and I get flicked back into my YahooXtra webmail.
Any help gladly accepted. TIA
Cheers
